[Character name] Angela "Angie" Thompson
[Age] 24
[Canon] Trauma Center
[Point in time taken from canon] Towards the end of UTK2 after treating Reina Mayuzumi's Alethia alongside Derek.

[Background]
Angie's childhood appeared to be fairly normal. She grew up with her mother as her father, Kenneth Blackwell, disappeared one day without explanation when she was young.

Angie had the perfect DNA that was required in order to incubate GUILT (Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin) and was a perfect candidate to become a Sinner. A Sinner is usually a child as they have the young tissue which is required in order to incubate GUILT. Angie was kidnapped by Delphi, the orginisation behind GUILT, in order to ensure that her father would cooperate with them. He did and therefore left behind his family.

Being aware that her father was a doctor, Angie became interested in medicine and grew up to be a nurse. Her hard work paid off when she was able to gain an International Nursing License at the tender age of 21.

Her first role as a nurse was at Hope Hospital where she became Derek Stile's assistant. On her very first day she managed to impress the staff by helping a man on her bus who had suffered a heart attack. She was late, of course, but her reasoning why was enough to impress the staff.

Angie began to work alongside Derek and often pointed out his shortcomings, much to his frustration. This all builds up until Derek insists a patient can wait until the following day for further inspection and left which caused the patient to fall gravely ill. Angie scolded him and forced Derek to face the consequences of his actions.

A traffic accident brought Derek back to Hope Hospital where Angie met him. She had tried to resuscitate a patient on her own and failed and Derek's arrival leaves her feeling relieved. During an operation with Derek she notes that he was able to stitch up in a split second and brought her concerns to Doctor Kasal. Doctor Kasal and Angie arranged to have Derek filmed to deduce why he was able to move so quickly.

Linda Reid, a patient, arrived at the hospital with mysterious cuts to her lungs without any external injuries. After Linda's operation, Angie confronted her and basically told her to go kill herself. Later, it's revealed that Linda has 24 times the suggested dosage of syphrohedrine in her system which can cause mood swings and the urge to die. The lacerations on Linda's lung eventually reopened and it was then that Angie and the rest of the team first encountered GUILT; the strain of kyriaki. As she had read her father's research Angie immediately recognised it and questioned if it really was GUILT.

When Derek transferred to Caduceus, Angie followed him and also began to work there. The first GUILT patient they treated there was Amy Chase, Doctor Chase's younger sister who had tested positive for the Deftera strain of GUILT. Angie was Derek's assistant during this operation and Deftera was eliminated from Amy.

Angie travelled with Derek to Rubora in Africa and mid-flight they performed an operation on a passenger who had fallen sick. Whilst in Rubora they searched for a research lab and were eventually shown the way by a young child, Reuben. Reuben soon fell ill with a strain of GUILT, Triti, and once again Angie was Derek's assistant for an operation to treat him. After his operation Reuben handed Angie and Derek a folder in code from a research lab. It was then that they received word that Doctor Kasal had been infected with GUILT.

Angie travelled with Derek in order to obtain samples of Tetari, a GUILT strain. After they obtained these they were able to operate on Doctor Kasal, therefore saving his life. Afterwards Richard Anderson, The Secretary of Health, falls ill with Pempti, another GUILT strain. After 3 operations they were able to eliminate Pempti from him completely. However all of the operations had placed a strain on his body and he passed away.

Later, a large outbreak of GUILT swept across the city which Angie helped Derek cope with. The next victim of GUILT is Cybil, who had it injected into her leg when a Delphi agent (aka Angie's father) was seen onsite. Together, Angie treated Paraskevi alongside Derek before revealing that she was Blackwell's daughter.

Angie was able to confront Blackwell but was unable to find out why he had left her as a child but Derek needed to operate on Blackwell who was showing a new strain of GUILT; Savato. They managed to save him.

Angie and Derek were asked to accompany the British Raid on a raid on Delphi's aquatic facility where they discovered kidnapped children from all over the world who had become Sinners in order to incubate GUILT. Together they were able to treat all of these children and remove the GUILT from their bodies.

It is then that Angie and Derek are both asked to participate on a long-term assignment in Britain. They agreed to go and were soon assisting research and treating GUILT patients again. However Derek was then infected with GUILT and Angie assisted Doctor Naomi Kimishimi with his operation.

When Derek is well enough they both attended Caduceus' European branch meeting where what was effectively an eighth GUILT type used for regeneration of cells was being showcased. This being Trauma Center nothing went right and several people became infected with GUILT. Angie assisted both Derek and Naomi with four operations in a row. She then assists them with Doctor Hoffman's operation.

Afterwards Angie and Derek travelled the world treating GUILT patients. This may sound like a happily ever after but there was still more to go with their story.

Three years later Angie and Derek's travels took them to Costigar where they worked in a refugee camp for half a year. They operated on many patients there and managed to recruit a new doctor, Adel, who they eventually brought with them back to Caduceus USA.

Upon arrival at Caduceus they are informed that many patients who had previously had GUILT had started showing symptoms to what they called Post-GUILT Syndrome (PGS). They swiftly and successfully treated their first patient with PGS alongside Victor Niguel. Their second patient is Linda Reid who had been recovering well since her first operation and they successfully operated on her once again. From Linda's surgery they procured samples in hopes that they would help them eradicate PGS.

Eventually, Angie met Emilio. Emilio was one of the children she rescued from Delphi's base three years ago and was therefore a Sinner. An extreme case of hepatitis had set in and after a tedious operation they were able to prevent it from worsening.

After three weeks Angie told Derek some good news; that they had found a donor liver for Emilio. The liver came from Elysium, a institute especially for those recovering from GUILT, but Angie assured Derek that the liver was fine. Angie then asked Victor if it would be okay to use the liver; he agreed it would be safe. Together the three of them transplanted the liver.

Later, she overheard Derek as he spoke to Reina Mayuzumi. She was unimpressed that he was considering leaving Cadeuceus at such a crucial time and got very angry with him. Derek accused her of being jealous of Reina which caused Angie to deny it and leave, furious.

However, for their next operation the two of them worked together in front of a television crew and didn't discuss their argument any further. The other staff noticed that Angie wasn't as enthusiastic as she usually would be. When Derek agreed to be monitored for an operation Angie was further unimpressed and yelled at him over it. How could he work competently if he had to worry about the cameras?

Together Angie and Derek visited Emilio and Heather in Elysium to ensure he was recovering okay. He was and Angie revealed that her father had been contacted to help out with the research of PGS much to everyone's surprise. After this, back at the hospital the staff speculated on whether or not Angie and Derek were in a relationship which Angie denied and then insulted Derek. The two of them stopped speaking until a GUILT outbreak occurred at Elysium. Everyone in Elysium was infected with kyriaki and Angie and Derek work together to treat patients including Heather. Unfortunately it was to late too treat Emilio and he passed away.

Angie was upset by this and confronted Derek who was already upset about not being able to save Emilio. As a consequence when Angie asked to be transferred to Hope Hospital alongside Derek her request is denied and after fumbling with equipment she was advised to take time off. Together, Angie and Derek visited her father in prison but their visit is marred by disaster as he falls ill with PGS. They operated on him without success and were only manage to successfully treat him after Angie begged Derek to continue.

Together they returned to Caduceus and weren't there too long before a member of Delphi carried out an attack on Reina Mayuzumi's company. Derek and Angie rushed over to help and participated in one of the operations. After they had finished they go to the observation room to see how the second operation was going and were surprised to discover Doctor Tulba was treating the patient and also using the Healing Touch.

After returning to Caduceus again Angie was devastated to learn that her father had joined the HOA and made an appointment to find out why he would do that without informing his own daughter. She asked Derek to accompany her which he agreed to do.

Angie and Derek volunteer to speak to Reina Mayuzumi about the possibility of a Delphi agent having infiltrated Acropolis. They went to meet her but unfortunately she was kidnapped before they could speak to her. They implanted a pacemaker with GPS into one of the kidnappers and the kidnapper escaped, leading Caduceus and the police to Delphi's headquarters.

A raid was carried out on the headquarters and they rescued Reina. However her condition was unstable as she had been infected with GUILT and Angie and Derek performed an operation on her right there. They were successful in treating the GUILT. As a result of this a new law was passed and the HOA were able to request medical staff from all hospitals including Caduceus. Angie helped Doctor Chase with an operation as Leslie was busy operating with another doctor; the staff shortages impacted Caduceus greatly. After finishing the operation Angie was surprised to learn that Heather had taken on a position in Caduceus.

Delphi carried out another attack and Angie once again assisted Doctor Chase instead of Derek with treatment. After this the police tracked down Delphi's new headquarters and asked Derek and Angie to go along with them in the event that any operations would need carried out. Angie was held hostage by one of the Delphi grunts and was then kidnapped alongside Derek. They were forced to operate on one of the grunts in the car and were then blindfolded.

The grunts took Angie and Derek to Delphi's main headquarters and were confronted by Heinrich von Raitenau, Delphi's new leader. Raitenau announced his plans to make Angie a Sinner and to host new strains of GUILT within her body. They were then put into cells but were able to break out. They were able to locate a satellite phone and provided the police with enough information to rescue them. They were rescued by the SWAT team but went back into the building to help. Inside they discovered two new Sinners, Karl and Christine, who were Raitenau's son and daughter.

Adel injected the three of them with a serum made by HOA but it reacted violently and caused them pain. Angie and Derek treated them and Raitenau was subsequently arrested. However after this patients were coming in to Caduceus with strains of GUILT that Angie had never seen before. Derek was able to treat it and afterwards Angie was surprised to learn that Acropolis had been distributing this form of GUILT. An investigation was conducted and Angie learnt that her father had only accepted the offer from the HOA in order to get closer to Acropolis.

Doctors from the HOA began to collapse and fall ill with the new strains of GUILT and Derek and Angie treated them. They then met up with Doctor Tulba who revealed he had been infected with one of the strains of Neo-GUILT, Sige, and after completely losing it he collapsed. Angie, her father and Derek operated on him and eradicated Sige from him.

The police begin a siege to arrest Mercer from the HOA and Angie went along with them alongside Derek and Heather. They treated three American soldiers who were suffering from burns and then confronted Mercer. Mercer had brought his comatose wife along with him and intended to awaken her using one of the strains of neo-GUILT, Bythos, but only succeeded in almost killing her. She was saved by Angie, Derek and company.

Angie then confronted Mercer and Reina. Reina had revealed she was hosting one of the neo-GUILT types, Alethia, in her body as it maintained her beauty and youth. Mercer injected Reina in a last attempt to save his wife but only succeeded in causing Reina's GUILT to activate. If she died the whole plant would blow up and kill everyone inside. Angie and Derek are forced to operate on her and after a very long operation they were able to eradicate Alethia. Mercer was then killed in front of Angie, much to her shock.

[Personality]
Stern, critical and smart, Angie could seem to some people like a nightmare to become friends with. She was brought up by a well-educated family and achieved her International Nursing License by 21 which has made her a stickler for rules to be followed. She follows what she has learnt closely although she sometimes bends the rules (with some persuasion) in order to aid the patient. She can be stubborn and borderline rude with everyone, even her patients, although she only acts this way because she cares about the lives of her patients to a deep extent. She's very ambitious and upon joining Caduceus she announced that her goal in life was to be the best medical assistant she could be. Angie prides herself on her ability to help others and becomes very upset when she can't help a patient to the extent she'd like to.

Angie often vents her frustrations about Derek Stiles to his face, making her an incredibly honest person. She prefers to tell people what she thinks of them to their face instead of whispering behind their back. She also has no qualms for being rude and brash to those she has no respect for, shown as when she scolds the Delphi grunts numerous times despite being their hostage.

Beneath this hard exterior is a much softer girl. Angie is very emotionally volatile and can go from yelling to crying in a matter of seconds. She often allows herself to drop her professional exterior to cry over what her patients are currently going through. She is very loyal, as shown by when she follows Derek around the world just in order to be his assistant, and she is also caring. She's also very vulnerable to the suffering of others and she is also forgiving; she forgave her father for abandoning her as a child.

Angie is also shown to be an agreeable person and friendly to all of the staff at Caduceus. Her stern exterior only seems to come around when it needs to be or around those she feels deeply connected to. She's also extremely hardworking. For example, she is usually stern and lectures Derek when he doesn't do his paperwork but then she reveals she has done all of his paperwork for him. She's also shown to have a soft spot for children as shown when she fawns over Cybil's baby and how upset she was over Amy Chase. Off duty she is your average, nice girl which is a refreshing change from her usually professional outlook.

Angie also seems to have a soft spot for Derek Stiles. Sometimes it looks as though she worries about Derek and forgets that he can cope without her being there. When she assisted Doctor Chase with an operation she rushes out to see if Derek needs help with another patient, which Heather had already helped him with. It's almost as though she gets jealous over the thought of him working with someone else. In addition whilst he was at Hope Hospital she fumbled whilst using equipment which was very unlike her.

[Abilities]
Angie doesn't particularly have any supernatural abilities. She is unable to fly, shoot laserbeams out of hands, breathe fire or do anything that would be regarded as being extremely cool. She's a fairly ordinary woman.

However, whilst she may not possess supernatural abilities she is a fantastic nurse and assistant to Derek. She also studied Aikido.

[Other important stuff]

[Sample post]
[First Person]
[Well. This wasn't good. It felt like just a moment ago since she had finished assisting Derek in his operation for Ms. Mayuzumi and now she was here. Her vision had gone black before she arrived here and she still couldn't help but wonder if she'd been kidnapped again or something.

She activates the video feed staring down the camera almost sternly.]

Excuse me. I'm not even sure if this is broadcasting but if you can see this my name is Angie Thompson from Caduceus USA. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of the rest of the squad or even Doctor Stiles it'd be much appreciated.

I'm really not sure where I am. I'll keep this broadcasting incase you need to be able to track me.

[And with that she sets the Dreamberry down so it's facing the sky. Really, this was just weird. Hopefully the others were all okay too.]

[Third Person]
"Really, Doctor Stiles. I'm surprised you even allowed yourself to be infected with GUILT. What would have we done without you?" Angie mused out loud, not particularly caring whether or not her co-worker was paying any attention to her words. She was frustrated; of course she was! Derek was supposed to have been one of the best surgeons in Caduceus and one of the very best when it came to treating GUILT and not taking neccessary precautions was just foolish. It was an amateur mistake if anything.

She was busying herself by tidying up the area were Derek's bed was locate, almost trying to disguise the fact that she was just fussing and that there was really nothing she should be doing. She was just worried. Of course she was worried; Derek had proven himself to be an excellent doctor but she still remembered the cocky idiot he'd been when they'd first met.

Shuffling some paperwork loudly, it was Derek's charts which had caught her eye. Hesitatingly she looked over them and felt herself relaxing. It looked as though he was on his way to making a smooth recovery.

"How are you feeling now?"

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Trauma Center has always been one of my favourite game series and the fact you have a small cast here caught my eye. I'd love to play with them and I have a few ideas with Angie that I'd love to have the chance to play out and explore.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] No pre-series characters. It's annoying when people take a character pre-series as they don't experience the events that makes a character who they are.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Jordan (aka Derek-mun)
[Any questions?] None!
